Jerseytomatofarm.com is the online e-commerce home for Summer Wind Farms of Newfield, New Jersey, where you can get delicious Jersey tomatoes and other Jersey Fresh produce shipped directly to your door.
Welcome to our Jersey Tomato Farm! We are located in the heart of South Jersey Tomato country.
Jersey Tomatoes are known far and wide for their fabulous flavor. The Campbell Soup Company whose headquarters is in Camden NJ not far away from our farm, helped make Jersey tomatoes famous with their iconic Tomato Soup.
Our sandy acidic soils grow some of the finest tasting tomatoes in the world! Our family has been farming in this area since 1917 and we’ve come to appreciate the great taste that only Jersey Tomatoes have.
Now we can send them directly to your front door so you can enjoy them just like we do at almost every meal!
Your beefsteak tomatoes are picked vine ripened to a “blush” stage. We find this is the best way to get them to you in great condition. Depending on how ripe you like your tomatoes, they may need to sit on the counter for a day or two to ripen before reaching peak ripeness, best texture, and top flavor.
We NEVER treat our tomatoes with any gases or other ripening agents. NONE of our tomatoes or any other produce we offer is GMO, ever. We typically ship Monday through Wednesday so your tomatoes arrive in two days via Federal Express. We normally ship a day after we get your order, however, we cut off weekly orders at noon on Wednesday for same-week shipping. So, orders received Wednesday afternoon through Sunday ship Monday or Tuesday of the following week. Of course, this all depends on inventory and Mother Nature. We normally announce any changes or disruptions at the top of this page. Thank you!
We have changed the way we ship.
We now use Federal Express, we find this is the fastest and most cost-effective way to get your order to you. Tomatoes can be challenging to ship. We explored many different methods of protecting them while in transit. We took a long look at the foam trays that are popular with fruit gift boxes but in the end, we came upon a simple solution. We wrap each tomato in unbleached craft paper and place them in plastic clam shells. The clamshell and paper combination do a great job of protecting them and we can fit 12 of them in a FedEx large box. Shipping of course is expensive, but this packaging method, along with FedEx reliability and 2-day delivery make this the most effective method. The cost of shipping is included in the price of your tomatoes.
